ABOUT
GUILHERME DE SOUSA & PEDRO AZEVEDO
Guilherme de Sousa (Viana do Castelo, 1994) & Pedro Azevedo (Porto, 1996) met in 2014 and have been collaborating professionally since 2016.
His activity intersects the visual and performing arts, developing a special interest in theater, dance and installation.
On the way there are “It takes two to Tango”, “VANISH”, a project that won the Campo de Batalha scholarship, promoted by the Porto Municipal Theater, and “Horto - A way that comes from touch”, winner of the 3rd edition of the Happy Together scholarship, promoted by Mala Voadora in partnership with the Porto City Council / Forum of the Future.
They are currently Young Associated Artists of the Municipal Theater of Porto, for the seasons 2019/20 and 2020/2021.
GUILHERME DE SOUSA
Was born in Viana do Castelo in 1994, and finished elementary school, as well as the 5th grade in clarinet, he joined the Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo (ACE). When he finished the course in 2012, he continued to study theater at ESMAE. After completing his studies in 2016, he attended the postgraduate course in Contemporary Dance, promoted by ESMAE and the Teatro Municipal do Porto - Rivoli.
He worked in a school context with artists such as António Júlio, João Paulo Costa, António Capelo, Nuno Pino Custódio, Joana Providência, Inês Vicente, Palmilha Dentada, Patrick Murys, Howard Gayton, Lee Beagley, Rodrigo Malvar, Catarina Lacerda, João Henriques, Paulina Almeida, Maria do Céu Ribeiro. At the same time, he worked with choreographer Isabelle Schad and Circolando.
In 2017 he staged the show "VANISH", under the program "Campo de Batalha" of the Teatro Municipal do Porto. With Pedro Azevedo, he co-created the project "Horto - A form that comes from touch", within the framework of the third edition of the Happy Together program, a partnership between Mala Voadora and Fórum do Futuro / Câmara Municipal do Porto.
PEDRO AZEVEDO
Born in Porto, in 1996, he started his career at the Secondary School of Santa Maria da Feira, in the Visual Arts course. In 2017, she finished her degree in Theater - Scenography Variant at ESMAE - Escola Superior de Música Artes e Espectáculo.
At the same time he has been participating in projects and workshops by various creators or companies, highlighting, among others, the company Circolando, CirkVost, Kud Ljud, Madalena Victorino, Mara Andrade, Marco Da Silva Ferreira, Paulina Almeida, Raimund Hoghe, Ralph Lemon and Xavier Le Roy .
As scenographer and / or costume designer he collaborated with Circolando, Francisco Pinho, João Dinis Pinho and Dinis Santos, Guilherme de Sousa, Lígia Roque, Pedro Zegre Penim, Roberto Olivan / Companhia Instável, Rodrigo Malvar, Alfredo Martins / Teatro Meia Volta and Assédio Teatro.
As an interpreter he integrated projects by Madalena Vitorino, Circolando, Kud Ljud, Paulina Almeida and Raimund Hoghe.
BLUFF
BLUFF is a non-profit cultural association based in Porto, founded in 2019 under the artistic direction of Guilherme de Sousa & Pedro Azevedo.
It is positioned at the intersection of visual and performing arts, and aims to support and support the creation and diffusion of artistic objects of its members. It intends to implant and develop cultural and artistic "events", but above all generate dialogue and thought.
